Purple Sugar Cookies

These red Sugar Cookies are tender and sweet, and their amusing color makes them excellent for events! So festive (and fun for Easter, too)! you spot, this weekend become the Evergreen state fair in Monroe.  And, in those parts, the pink Cow is a staple at the honest. I don’t understand their mystery recipe, however it incorporates grape juice and milk (sure, for real), and agree with it or no longer, it’s gorgeous in coloration and scrumptious.  however in general a favorite for the youngsters.

I used to be trying to make pink colored sugar to rim the glasses of my purple Cow Cocktail, so I should make a loopy Mad pink Cow Cocktail with a depraved kick.  (Did you know cows can kick backward, ahead and sideways?  Now, that’s what I call a wicked kick.)  but dang!  I poured in wayyyy to a lot blue and not nearly enough purple.  the following factor I knew…I had a first rate–duper-dark black-blue sugar.  Agh!!!  So, I attempted to restoration it.  With a ton greater sugar and eight,000 gallons of red meals coloring.  Oh, and neon pink and neon turquoise too.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ cups butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large mixing bowl on medium speed, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs (one at a time) and vanilla until thoroughly mixed. Add flour (one cup at a time), then add baking powder and salt.
  2. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).
  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  4. Roll out dough onto a floured surface, ¼ to ½ inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on parchment lined cookie sheets.
  5. Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely.
